Maple syrup is one of nature’s sweetest treats. Every spring we tap the maple trees in our back woods, collect the sap, and spend hours boiling until the sap turns into, as some call it, “liquid gold.” Maple syrup is a delicious treat not only on pancakes and waffles, but as an all-natural sweetener when cooking and baking. In 2015, with the help of family and friends, the Maple Barn at Clarkridge Farm was constructed. We harvested the lumber from the woods and built an old-fashioned, post and beam sugar house.
